Ingredients

  • 6 boneless chicken thighs, diced
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 400g tin chopped tomatoes
  • 100ml double cream
  • 30g butter
  • 2 tbsp tikka paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • Fresh coriander to serve

Method

  1. Place the chicken, onion, and garlic in the slow cooker.
  2. Add the tinned tomatoes, tikka paste, cumin, turmeric, paprika, sugar, and ginger. Stir.
  3. Cook on Low for 5-6 hours or High for 3 hours.
  4. Stir in the butter, cream, and garam masala in the last 20 minutes.
  5. Serve with basmati rice, naan bread, and fresh coriander.

Tips

The butter and cream at the end is what makes this dish. Don’t skimp on them — this isn’t the time for healthy substitutions.
